Chapter I – Before the Search includes proactive steps to be taken prior to initiating search activity. Resumes, references, job search strategy options, and managing online reputation are covered. Blasting out resumes is not a strategy.
Chapter II – Starting the Search provides a guide to implementing your chosen search strategies, the pros and cons of the various search methods (tips to interacting with agency technical recruiters, job boards, etc.), and a unique tactic dubbed actively passive search.
Chapter III – During the Search covers activity monitoring and metrics, possible explanations for negative responses, phone screen and interview preparation/tactics, follow-up, and offer negotiation.
Chapter IV – After the Search provides guidance for when you have chosen the job you want. It includes advice on offer acceptance and rejection, resignation, counteroffers (the truth and what recruiters will tell you), and methods to leverage the contacts you made while searching.
